Advanced Arts @ Gallery 37 provides high school juniors/seniors who show exceptional talent and interest in the arts rigorous instruction and career guidance in an inspiring setting, the Gallery 37 Center for the Arts. To supplement classroom learning, students also benefit from master classes, field trips, public art exhibitions, and a showcase of their visual, performing, and culinary arts. Representatives from top colleges actively recruit graduates of the program.

AfterSchoolChicago.org is a searchable website that integrates program offerings from all of the Out Of School Time Project Partners. Users can search programs by type, provider and hours of operation, or simply find out what’s available in their neighborhood.

Chicago Police and Firefighter Training Academy (CPFTA) is a 2-year after school program that allows you to train at the Chicago Police and Fire Academies for a future career in law, public safety, fire science and more while earning school credit.

Each year the Office of College and Career Preparation (OCCP) looks for bright, energetic juniors and seniors to work as Youth Leaders for the Freshman Connection 8th to 9th grade summer transition program. This is an opportunity to help your peers get ready for high school by participating in interactive teambuilding, cultural enrichment and sports activities. It’s also an excellent opportunity to share your success as an upperclassman!

The NCLB Summer High School Programs is a credit recovery option for students in grades 9-12th. The Summer High School program focuses on recovering core subject-area credits with instruction from certified teachers. All high schools are expected to have summer school and/or a summer program this year so that students can stay on pace or get back on track to graduate. Summer school runs from the months of June through August.

The Youth Ready Chicago program connects young people, ages 14 - 21, with internships, apprenticeships and jobs within Chicago’s public and private business sectors. Each opportunity offers youth hands-on experience and an opportunity to gain marketable skills, supporting a successful transition from school into the workforce.
