It's pretty easy, we hope.
Who enters the speakers information into the system?
Typically the person who is organizing the speaking engagement with the speaker is the one to enter the information. If a CTE Partnership Development Liaison organized the event, he/she will enter it.
Which speakers should be entered into the system?
ONLY speakers related to the CTE career path of the program. This system is not meant for college awareness, financial aid, general work-readiness speakers, etc.
How many times should the speaker be entered into the system?
ONLY ONCE per school (per day speaking)
When should the speakers be entered?
Ideally they get entered soon after you get the confirmation from the speaker, but you can wait up until the day the speaker actually presents. Remember the students only have a week to do the reflections.
Can I change the speaker information once it has been entered?
You can change the information for a speaker you entered or if you are listed correctly as the On Site Organizer (CPS staff person) up to a week after the speaker's presentation. You cannot change a speaker presentation after that week has passed.
Why do students only have a week to do their reflections?
After a week or so, the students impressions will likely not be as strong as they are right after the presentation. We also designed this reflections system with the hope that it be incorporated into the presentation process itself either as an in class activity or as a homework assignment.
How long should it take students to enter their reflections?
Well that will depend on what your students have to say about the speaker and the presentation, but generally we think it will take about 10-20 minutes on average.
Should students who are not CTE students complete the reflection form?
That is the decision of the instructor. CTE will only collect and report data for CTE students but you will be able to view submissions of all students from your school.
