AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) helps you get organized and get ready for college. As an AVID student, you will enroll in a college-prep high school curriculum and the AVID elective. You will learn skills to succeed in demanding courses and receive tutoring in core subjects from college students. You will become AVIDized as you take the elective for at least three years, enroll and succeed in honors and AP classes, and graduate on time with all your required credits.

AVID is active in almost half of the CPS high schools. If you currently attend or plan to attend one of those schools, you may apply to AVID.
