Your teen years are a good time to learn who you are, what you like, and what you want. Don't be afraid to try new things. Join clubs. Explore career options. Give back to your community.

What do you want to do? When you think ahead ten years, what do you see yourself doing to earn a living? And what does it take to get there?

When you are a teenager, it’s hard to get a handle on those questions. As a CPS student, you can use Choices Explorer and Choices Planner to figure out what it takes and make a plan.

On Choices Planner you can find out the basics about different careers. Take advantage of opportunities to learn more about the ones that appeal to you and to develop job skills while still in high school.

Include education after high school in your plan from the beginning, since it is a necessity for most well-paying jobs. But leave yourself plenty of space and time to change your mind about specific career paths.

Once you have a plan, work the plan. Do the steps along the way each year to keep on track toward graduation and higher education.
