2011 Youth Leader Training

Each year the Office of College and Career Preparation (OCCP) looks for bright, energetic juniors and seniors to work as Youth Leaders for the Freshman Connection 8th to 9th grade summer transition program.

The students selected for the positions were trained over 4 days at the end of June. This year’s training was held at North Park University and Kenwood Academy and included topics such as interactive teambuilding, cultural awareness and leading group activities. The Youth Leaders were also trained to provide effective tutoring support during the Freshman Connection academic sessions.

This is a great leadership opportunity and helps their younger peers get ready for high school and to share their successes as upperclassmen!
