2nd Annual Health Science Competition

On Friday, January 20, 2012, 276 juniors and seniors in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Health Science program from 10 high schools (Crane, CVCA, Dunbar, Julian, Kelvyn Park, Manley, North-Grand, Sullivan, Westinghouse, and LPN) competed in the 2nd Annual Chicago Public Schools local Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Health Science Competition.

HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). Its mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.

Congratulations to the all the students who competed (and their teachers too!).

This event would not have been possible without the assistance of over 80 volunteers from Everest College, UIC College of Nursing, Health Care Consortium of Illinois, and Career and Technical Education Team at CPS.
