When you are a college student, you are responsible for going to class, keeping up on class reading, and preparing for tests. No one will pester you to show up and do the work.
You will have a lot of work and will also need to study harder than you did in high school. Develop strategies for managing your time so you don’t fall behind. For some tips on time management from the University of Illinois, click here.
A few pointers:
Don’t cut class.
Read the class syllabus and write important dates in your calendar.
Stay up-to-date on class assignments.
Get to know your teachers. That will make it easier to ask for help if you need it.
Find the campus tutoring or resource center. Use it if you need it.
