People: Where to go for help
Counselor: Your counselor is prepared to help you plan for college and get the resources and help you need. Go to your counselor for help in planning your courses, finding out about college fairs and other events, using Choices Planner for the first time, applying for college and financial aid, etc.
College advisor: Some high schools have a person dedicated to helping you make plans for after high school. They are sometimes called a postsecondary coach, college advisor, or college coach. They are there to help you prepare for, apply to, get money for, and succeed in college.
GEAR UP postsecondary coach: In GEAR UP schools, postsecondary coaches work with students and their parents to prepare for college. For younger students this means increasing awareness and access to resources. In high schools, GEAR UP postsecondary coaches are there to help you and your parents prepare for, apply to, get money for, and succeed in college.
