ASCA National Model

The question has been posed, "What do school counselors do?" The more important question is, "How are students different as a result of what school counselors do?" To help answer this question, the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) created the ASCA National Model®, which is a framework for a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program.

Implementation Plans for 2011-2012

A few quick reminders...

  • Evidence Based Counseling Implementation Plan templates, instructions, and resources are available on this page (above).
  • Plans should be signed off by the Principal and submitted via email by Monday, September 19th, 2011 to Barbara Karpouzian, Director, Secondary School Counseling (bakarpouzian@cps.k12.il.us).
  • NEW: In an effort to increase accountability and transparency, we are also asking each Counseling team to complete an online submissions of their 2011-2012 program goals using this link: http://www.chooseyourfuture.org/support-staff/2011-12-counseling-impleme.... Counseling teams must submit this information by Friday, September 30th, 2011. These goals will be shared in a report to High School Networks and Principals.
